There are two hinged sections on it; the one in the back is down now, while the section at the front is up to keep her from driving off. There are sides welded to the two edges of it so she can't stray from the path. She drives on and the back section lifts to keep her from going backward and also to clear the running board as she is lowered down. When she reaches ground level, the front section drops onto the ground, making a straight drive off from between the sides and directly ahead onto the ground. It works like a charm.
