A Bit O' Whimsy From The Alaska State Fair

Chicago has cows on parade ... Anchorage has salmon on parade each summer ... and the first five photos are from this summer's salmon "catch." Palmer, home of the Alaska State Fair and world record size cabbages, decided they should have cabbages on parade ... so that explains the last picture. I missed one cabbage I'd like to have photographed -- the one that got away. It looked like a globe of the world with a little old-fashioned sailing ship perched on top ... and the label said it represented "Crucifer Columbus."
